The Hour is a new chic boutique located in Old Town Alexandria specializing in modern and vintage cocktail ware.  With the recent resurgence and interest in all types of cocktails, owner Victoria Vergason found that there were few if any stores that offered cocktail enthusiasts a one-stop shop to find unique and artful items for entertaining at home and enjoying that special time of day.  Based on Bernard De Voto's book The Hour, the store derived its name and now celebrates that "[w]hen evening quickens in the street, comes a pause in the day's occupation that is known as the cocktail hour." 

At The Hour, we bring back the classy cocktail era of the 1940s, 50s & 60s but with a decidedly modern twist.  We specialize in one-of-a-kind vintage chic barware, glassware and trays from notable designers such as Dorothy Thorpe, Georges Briard, Fred Press, Culver and Couroc.  New products blend with our vintage treasures and are artfully displayed in our unique, Victorian-era building on historic King Street.

You will find everything you need to enjoy the cocktail hour and create your own stylish bar at The Hour, including glassware, shakers, pitchers, jiggers, muddlers and stirrers, napkins and furniture, all at great prices. To enhance your cocktail wardrobe, we offer a large collection of new and vintage cocktail jewelry.  We are also a great source for hostess and bridal gifts as well as gifts for that special occasion.
